Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation launches burpees4boobs 2021

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer has taken mums, sisters, daughters, granddaughters, aunties, wives, partners, friends...too soon. We know that people hate burpees. But chances are, they hate breast cancer more.

Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation has launched their 2021 fundraising campaign, burpees4boobs, a challenge to the general public to burpee as much as they can during the month of October. The 2020 campaign raised an incredible $280,000 and this year we’re upping the stakes and calling on you to help us raise $500,000 to support women in the fight against Breast Cancer.

Money raised for burpees4boobs 2021 will help fund a range of community and patient based initiatives in support of the Breast Unit at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse; Breast Care Nurses, SBCF National Surgical Fellowship Program, medical equipment, research programs, holistic therapies and services, hardship fund and community awareness and education programs.

To kick off the campaign, Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation has enlisted SBCF ambassador, Jessica Rowe to take a trip back to the 80s and show us how to get our burpee on!

To get involved simply sign up to become a burpee-er at burpees4boobs.org, set a burpee goal for the month of October and get fundraising. OR you can support the cause by making a donation at burpees4boobs.org.

How it works?

How it works!

Lynne Crookes OAM – President, Sydney Breast Cancer foundation, says “burpees4boobs is Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation’s newest fundraising initiative, introduced in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. After the incredible support we received last year, SBCF is bringing Burpees4boobs back again and asking our supporters to help raise much needed funds to support women with breast cancer.

In Australia, 279 lives are lost each month to breast cancer, that is 9 women each day.  Whether you can do burpees or support a burpee-er, we need you to get involved in burpees4boobs this year, only with your support can we continue Beating Breast Cancer Together.”

MORE INFORMATION

burpees4boobs 2021 raises funds for Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation.

Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation is dedicated to increasing awareness and raising funds to support women with breast cancer.

Our vision is that families and friends do not lose their loved ones to a breast cancer diagnosis. Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation works to increase awareness of early detection, in an aim to improve the survival rate of breast cancer, whilst continuing to fund the best possible treatment and care for patients and their families.

Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation was started 25 years ago by a group of passionate doctors, surgeons and advocates committed to supporting breast cancer patients by raising much-needed funds in support of breast cancer research, treatment and care. Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation is 100% self-funded.

The Foundation provides support on a day-to-day basis directly to patients by way of funding: Breast Care Nurses, State-of-the-Art equipment, Hardship funding, and additional Patient Support programs within Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and the wider community.
