Mosman Ladies Day raise $13,000 for Breast Cancer

Mosman Rugby Club hosts their annual Ladies Day event as a way to include everyone involved with the club, not just their players, but namely those that support the players.

Providing a welcomed opportunity for the gentlemen at the club to give back to the women that support them by raising funds for Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation in support of breast cancer patients, and by helping to raise awareness in the community, and ultimately the women who they love. All net proceeds from the event are donated to SBCF, the Ladies Day has been an annual fundraiser since 2013.
“Businesses donate their time to make the day special, we want to make sure the ladies have a good time.” says Michael Flude.

“It’s such a wonderful cause, making sure patients and their families receive the care and support they need whilst facing breast cancer. We are proud to raise funds in support of Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation and their amazing work.”
“Mosman Rugby is very proud of its long association with the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation and very happy to contribute in any way we can. The Mosman Rugby Ladies Day has been a tremendous success throughout the years and we look forward to a continuing relationship supporting the Foundation and bringing awareness to Breast Cancer”
Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation raises funds in support of breast cancer patients and advocates for the early detection of breast cancer. The Foundation aims to improve the care, treatment and survival rates of breast cancer patients.
Here in Australia, 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, it is the most diagnosed cancer, and sadly 8 people will die each day from this disease. Despite the 38% increase in women being diagnosed, breast cancer is claiming fewer lives each year. Survival rates have greatly improved with the 5-year survival rate at 91% thanks to awareness campaign that result in early detection and improved treatment.
Lynne Crookes, President of Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation, says, “On behalf of the SBCF I want to thank the Mosman Rugby Club for their ongoing support and raising funds for us on their annual Ladies’ Day. This is the 9th consecutive year they have been fundraising for us.

The time and effort they put into the Ladies’ Day is en
ormous. The event is booked out immediately, the atmosphere is full of fun and the support for SBCF, with the guests’ buying raffle tickets and our merchandise, is all very special.
Mosman Rugby Club has always been very supportive of the local and wider community. So important for our local clubs. We are extremely thrilled to have them supporting SBCF yet again. Thank you.”
