This weekend saw the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation hold our first ever Blues For Breasts fundraiser at Sydney's Annandale Hotel. Local band Sound Benefit took to the stage for a night of roots and blues in one of our most enjoyable events yet.
Foundation volunteers were on hand with raffle tickets while guests enjoyed food, drinks and entertainment long into the evening.
Comedian and foundation Ambassador Emma Markezic emceed the event and was joined on stage by breast oncology surgeon Associate Professor Sanjay Warrier who spoke about how the funds raised by the foundation contribute to research and patient care at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. He even stayed on to draw the raffle, which included prizes from Avalon restaurant, Jodie McGregor Flowers, Rimmel cosmetics, Bondi Wash and much more.
Thanks to work of committee member Edith Maling and all the volunteers who helped make the event happen, ticket and raffle sales raised over $6000, which will go directly towards helping the work of the foundation.
It's fair to say the over 200 guests in attendance had the breast time and we can't wait to do it all again next year!
