Patient Support Sponsors

Help us to nurture courage and hope in breast cancer patients when they need it most by becoming a Patient Support Sponsor. We will direct your contribution to our Patient Support Program, including the SBCF Wig Library, Chemotherapy Packs and In-Patient Welcome Packs, provided at no cost to our patients as they battle the disease.

Patient Support Sponsors make a contribution of $4,086 to cover the cost of Wig Packs , Chemotherapy Packs and In-Patient Welcome Packs for an average of 83 breast cancer patients treated through the Sydney Breast Cancer Institute at Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals, over one month.

Chemotherapy Pack Wig Pack In-patient Welcome Pack

SBCF Wig Library opened at RPA Hospital in July 2009. Sydney Cancer Centre patients who have lost their hair can now access Wig Packs, including wig, under-cap, wig stand, comb, wig shampoo and anti-static spray, at no cost, assisted by trained beauticians and wig fitters.

In-patient Welcome Packs are provided to in-patients on arrival to the ward for breast surgery at RPA and Concord Hospitals. Surgery is most often unilateral or bilateral mastectomy, or lumpectomy operations. The packs are a very special treat for patients and include a range of personal items including loose-fitting white shirt, hand towel, soap, lotions, shampoo, sleep eye mask, diary, pen and special carry bag.

Chemotherapy Packs are provided to breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment at RPA and Concord Hospitals. The pack includes a digital thermometer (to monitor temperature for signs of fever resulting from the treatment), notebook, pen, anti nausea peppermint tea and special carry bag.
